Nancy J. Yowell an aged resident died Friday afternoon at her home on South State street after a short illness. She was nearly 70. Awful Accident at Railroad Crossing Claims Two Youths
Edward Colton and Samuel Fisher, both about 23, were struck by a northbound freight near Paxton while asleep in a buggy. Colton was killed instantly. Fisher was badly injured but progressing toward recovery at St Anthony’s hospital in Terre Haute. The accident, occurring around 3 am, left the horse dead and the buggy demolished with beer bottles found at the scene. Colton’s body was taken to Carlisle after identification by his father.
