Frightened horse runs away injuring driver in Fairbanks
Murray DeBaun, driving with a horse that became frightened this afternoon, was thrown to the ground but escaped serious injuries. The horse dashed for miles, suffered cuts and bruises, and the buggy was completely demolished in Fairbanks, Indiana.

Andersons sue Evansville brewery over temperance brew claim
Markwood and Sylvester Anderson of this city sue the Evansville Brewing Association for 5000 damages alleging the brewery promised non intoxicating temperance brew that could be sold without a license. They sold it before being arrested for a blind tiger and faced a 200 fine and 90 days in jail. The case ties into a court ruling that any malt liquor is intoxicating.

Sullivan Elks Buy Douthitt Residence for Club Addition
The Sullivan Lodge of Elks purchased William T. Douthitt’s North Court street home for five thousand dollars. Construction begins next week with a south side addition including a basement for baths billiards and gymnasium. Allegation of Bond Theft in Merom Traction Suit
Terre Haute July 25 Warren Brown sues United States Construction Company and Don M Roberts in superior court seeking a receiver for the Merom Traction Company bonds valued at 38000 dollars. Brown claims Roberts secretly obtained bonds and misused them without stockholder approval and asks for an accounting. Brown, a promoter, alleges bonds were diverted to Roberts use as suits arise after the line went into receivership.

Sullivan Ind July 28 six local business and professional men camp two weeks yearly on the Wabash river above Merom. Prosecution Seeks Bond Forfeit From Lindley

Bloodied fracas on the E and T H train sparks jailings
On a southbound E and T H train two Terre Haute men Davis and McCoy were cut by Albert Crandall of Evansville after a dispute over drinking alcohol. Crandall was knocked unconscious with a coal blow, then Crandall blamed another passenger for the knife wounds. Davis and McCoy were jailed and later released. Crandall remained jailed.
