The married ladies Sunday School class entertained members of Mrs Mannings class at Mrs Arners home last Friday evening in Halloween decor. Games and contests were held between married and unmarried guests in a season themed gathering.
Community notices record visits and travels of residents including Howard Deems Fay Clark and Mrs Fay Clark. Local trips include funerals in Fairbury with relatives from Steele City and Madison. A missionary meeting is planned and local teachers attend a Lincoln meeting.
Rainy weather and poor road conditions forced the postponement of the corn husking contest from Tuesday to Saturday, November 7. The article also reports a meat market theft the previous night with about 35 dollars worth of items including ham, sausage, bacon, and butter stolen.

The service at the M. E. church was led by Rev Furman with a large attendance. Burial followed at Fairbury cemetery. The bereaved express thanks to friends who offered sympathy and assistance. Ray L. Barber, son, Mr. and Mrs. John Bugbee, Lewis Bugbee, and Cleatus Bugbee.
