Memorial Day activities are set for Monday May 30 with services at the opera house and cemetery. The American Legion leads the program featuring music and drills at the hall and a keynote address by Rev Warren of Endicott.

The class of eight seniors at Steele City High School graduated in an eventful week ending with commencement in the opera house. Rev. William Park of Fairbury delivered the address as Old Rose and Silver decorated the stage with the sweet pea as the class flower. The inaugural season included a senior play and a Junior-Senior banquet at Mrs. C. C. Andrews home.

New Blacksmith Takes Charge at Local Shop
The blacksmith shop changed hands last week with new owner Mr. A H Wollenberg taking charge. He and his wife and two children live on a nearby farm. the family will relocate to town later. He is at the shop daily and welcomes local work and friendly support.

Onaway Club Donates to Church Fund
The Onaway Club met at Mrs. Pearl Davis home on May 28. Members present included Madeline Clark Marie Arner Pearl Davis Fannie Manning Elizabeth Packer and Kathryn Harris with My L Hoeft and Albertime Rida absent. The group donated $25 to the church building fund. An afternoon of needlework followed by a two course luncheon. Visitor Mrs Jennie McLachna from Lincoln attended.
