Wh Pearson and Hazel visit Lincoln then return. Alf alfa work continues between showers. W. W. Carmichael shows a sack of potatoes almost baseball size. Mr and Mrs Walter Lanker leave for Fremont for summer school. C Andrews buys Percheron mares to improve stock. Mr and Mrs Ross Palmer of Oneida visit the Pearnons. D of H picnic planned at Crinklaw grove postponed due to wet grounds. Dinner held in Wright’s hall. George Chancellor hospitalized in St. Joseph with little hope of recovery. brought home. Cowboys in western attire pass through with Texas longhorns en route to Frontier Day in Kansas. G E Reynolds and daughter Mrs Guy Justis of Topeka visit. Justis to Cleveland for a charity meeting and then possibly Chicago. Mrs Justis to stay two weeks. Mr Justis to visit sons next week.
After a rain several volunteers work the road between Steele City and Endicott. Wm Barber Noah Handley G W Carmichael and Alex Shepherd pull the surface across the highway. R B Thompson and C C Andrews are said to drag about a mile each.
The M E church notes list Sunday School at 10 am and preaching alternate Sundays at 11 am and 7 30 pm. Prayer meetings Thursdays at 7 30 pm. Died at home in Hollenberg Friday June 7 Dr S S Welch aged 83. Funeral at M E church with burial in Hollenberg cemetery.
E Funke traveled to Fairbury on Saturday and Carl Townsend was an Hanover caller on Saturday. S B Davis visited Beatrice recently while George Martin of Hanover came to the city Sunday. Ida Hodges rode to Fairbury Wednesday and J W Spring made a business trip there on Tuesday. Wm Fielder of Beatrice visited relatives last week and Willie Oswald with his brother Frank visited Fairbury Saturday. Ira Lewis returning from Fremont to attend school and Mrs George Martin of Hanover visited Chas Martin.
