Local notes list visits and travels across Fairbury Odell Diller Hamlin and Lincoln. Names include Moon Man ning Wallace Lenker Pearl Smith Outhier Broadston and Hoeft with church and funeral events noted. Egg production at Clarke Store shows high yields and Rhode Island Reds.
Sunday School 10 A M and church services at 11 A M and 7:30 P M with evening offerings. Attendance strong. goal Easter Sunday School 200. Upcoming events include sacrament reception next week and Thursday installation with Rev. Welson and others. Message urges renewed participation and church as community asset.
The Ladies Aid announces a meeting on January 20 at the North Church. All are invited to attend as plans for the year’s work are discussed and refreshments are served.
Vernon Bryant and Helen Shepherd have perfect attendance so far this year. Addison Pfants started school Monday and is in second grade with eight students in that class. Billy Pfantz and Arthur Hardeety entered the third and fourth grade room this week, bringing that room to twenty pupils. The fourth grade is busy indoors, back page.
John Frederick Hoeft born May 9 1854 in Osgood Indiana died January 9 1926 at 9 48 A M at age 71 years 7 months and 21 days after a year of ill health in Steele City He left a wife Katherine M Hoffmann and eight children with three predeceased He is survived by daughters Mrs J A May Colville Wash Mrs Willus Mercer Grand Island Neb Mrs Chas Ballinger Valley Neb and sons Orin Colville Wash William Roseburg Ore Floyd Myrtle Point Ore John H Jr Grand Island Neb and Paul W of Steele City Funeral services were held January 10 at 2 30 PM at the Presbyterian Church with Rev Pfrutz officiating and burial in Steele City Cemetery The family expresses gratitude for help received during the illness

Steele City High School beat Fairbury with a 10 to 4 score in their interschool basketball game last Friday night here. The next game against Reynolds Earl With of Odell was noted. local residents and town movement are mentioned.
