Mrs Carl McDonald will host the Steele City Women’s Club meeting on Thursday February 16. The program will feature a organized schedule with guest speakers and club activities.

Sunday school at 10 a m and church services at 11 a m and 7 30 p m were well attended though weather affected the evening crowd. Rev Knauer visited, the Missionary Society meets with Mrs Fay Clark on Wednesday, and a large Aid society gathering at Mrs Kurtz home spent time socializing with lunch. A bake sale raised 27 dollars and the group urges readers to study the Book of John this month.

Mr. Mitchell is confined to his home due to sickness. Several residents, including Miss Eva Duthier and Mrs. Glen Riddle, hosted and visited, with many guests at the homes of Alfred Abel, John Kenning, Fred Kenning Sr., and others. Livestock and alfalfa bale for sale also noted in town listings.

Mrs Edwin Pingle hosted a Sunday birthday tea for her husband Edwin Pingle. Twenty six relatives and friends attended with well filled baskets, sharing a pleasant afternoon and best wishes for many more happy occasions.

Pfieffer Opens Steele City Medical Practice

Dr. E. P. Pfieffer and wife Mrs. Pfieffer arrived in Steele City last Saturday and he begins duties as physician and surgeon. His office is in the Davis building with up to date equipment. He is a University of Nebraska medical graduate and Mrs. Pfieffer is a Clarkson Memorial School nurse and Nebraska registered nurse. He recently bought a new car to meet calls. The community welcomes the new doctor and wife.

Perry Cuthbert traveled to Adeline Kansas last week. John Janssen visited the Malady home Tuesday night. Russell Trovel hauled hay to Endicott last Tuesday. Mr Folden moved a load of furniture to Axtell Tuesday. George Kenning baling hay. Work began last Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Malady and Goldie Clem were visiting Wednesday evening at the George Banahan home. George Banahan and wife and Mr Malady and wife were Sunday guests at the Charley Compton home.

Mrs Muir and Miss Celia Visit From Stockton

Mrs Muir and her daughter Miss Celia from Stockton Kansas arrived Sunday to visit Mrs Hance and family. Mrs Muir will stay for an extended visit while Miss Celia left Tuesday for Peoria Illinois to become head of the diaryetic department at John C Proctor hospital.
