Garrett Leaves Cascade for Home in Montana

Alex Garrett departed Monday for his Cascade Montana home. L C Wolf called Thursday and advanced his subscription to February 1929.

Valentine Bridge Party at Mrs Manning’s Home

Mrs H M Manning hosted an Onaway club Valentine bridge party Monday afternoon. High score went to Mrs Glen Riddle. Guests included Mrs R Sherman of Tecumseh Mrs Carl McDonald and Mrs Pfeiffer. A two course luncheon was served at one long table with red tapirs red hearts and Cupid decorations.

High School Notes on Redecorated Gym and Debates

The gymnasium was redecorated for improved light and appearance, with white walls and a light blue lower border. Advanced arithmetic replaces fourth semester algebra as a required math. fifteen students are enrolled. Debates include Steele City vs Beatrice on child labor, with district members Geneva, Bruning, Edgar, Davenport, and standings by percentage.

Birthday tribute and classroom notes for Miss Kuper

Miss Kuper was delightfully entertained at a pupil hosted birthday dinner with a large cake centerpiece. Patty Schultz burned her right hand Friday and cannot use it. Marvin Drake was absent from Fifth Grade Geography class while studying Alaska.

The W C T U met at Mrs A T Phelps home with Mrs Shultz and Mrs Andrews as hostesses. A report on the State Convention in Omaha was given by Mrs Shultz who attended.
