Braves Pirates Top Local Baseball Leaders
The Braves beat the irs 13-10 to stay first in the Samford major league standings while Lupe Gomez went 11 hits for the Dodgers in a 12-1 win over the Red Sox. Bobby Alvarez earned the Braves win Friday with a four hitter. Dodgers beat Cardinals 12-5 as Todd Harrison and Pete Moreno combined for the win. Cardinals then won 11-3 over the Red Sox for their first season win. Pirates defeated Jets 14-12 in minor league action to remain 3-0, and previously beat Rangers 15-1 as Eddie Hall and Mark Sanders homered and Hall went 3-for-4.
