Ant Control Reduces Farm Losses This Spring
County agent L A Pierce reports ants cause annual damage of 25 to 50 dollars per colony. He helped farmers clear over 2000 acres by exterminating 63 colonies this spring using calcium cyanide dust pumped into the main cavity after locating it with a long auger. An alternative method partially excavates the cavity and uses an open can of high life placed over the hole.
