Going Higher price surge shocks spool cotton market
Glasgow Times reports a six cent rise for all spool cotton, not special grades, reversing a long held five cent rate. The so called thread trust allegedly pushes prices from fifty five to sixty seven cents per dozen from jobber to retailer. Retailers may pad six cent spools, while five cent spools fade out. American prints rise to seven cents per yard, signaling broad textile price pressure and a future hike in trust goods. The piece also notes a typographic quirk about the dot over I and suggests subscribing to The Sun.
