Garwood acquitted in molestation case in North Carolina
Marine Pic. Robert Garwood, once convicted of collaborating with the enemy in Vietnam, was acquitted by a North Carolina state jury Saturday of sexually molesting a 7 year old girl. The panel found him not guilty on charges including first degree sex offense and attempted rape. The trial ended after about 22 hours of deliberations, shocking many viewers. Garwood, who remains appealing the military conviction, sobbed with relief as he spoke of finally feeling free and thanked supporters and his fiancé Donna Long.
