Accutane linked to higher heart and liver risks
A study of 13,772 patients on isotretinoin shows more abnormal cholesterol, liver enzyme, and triglyceride levels than expected, highlighting the need for careful monitoring. Most abnormalities resolved after stopping the drug, though long term effects remain unclear. FDA requires patient doctor registration since March 1 to limit birth defects.
