The Sioux Falls business college held its first oratorical contest last night. Bam P. Gisnzer won first with "Preparedness," Elmer Ellison took second with "Yourealt." Judges were F. H. Molanist, Dr. Anderson and W. A. Swark.

Clara Smith Hammon found her path to stardom through a pistol click while Dorothy Miller sacrificed money for her mother’s operation. A theatrical firm in the old Quaker City offered $100 a week and ten weeks’ pay in advance, which Miller accepted. W. A. Smith visited Peever on Thursday.

Browns Valley Weather and Auto Mishaps After Storm

Grants News notes Edwin Nelson pursuing postgraduate study in Twin City Barber College. Tosten and his group in Browns Valley on Good Friday evening loaded old shoe boxes for Hans Kalbak and Hans Hyrumm to transport to Cave City for a shoe repair shop. A rain turned to snow Saturday afternoon with Mrs Olaf Negaard and children awaiting a Minneapolis doctor letter at Sisseton. The late train delayed homeward travel. they reached August Schunaman’s home where the auto left the road. Robert Oletzke assisted to Henry Krone’s, but his own car also left the road. Gust Nelson’s family stalled at the river bridge. a team pulled the auto home. Paul Sievert, captured by the storm, left Sisseton around 1 am for home and ended up inside a steel culvert near Browns Valley on Easter Sunday morning.
