Weather fine and corn cutting underway as residents share visits. Wedding rumor swirls in the community. Some youths return from the Dakota harvest fields. Local gatherings include visits to Yellow Creek lake and the North Manchester fair. Plans to build a new house near the county carriers. Eldership meeting attendance in Columbia City discussed. Mrs. Platt visited family near Gilead. The Lautzenheisers consider wintering in the south for health reasons.

William Brown and family moved from near Disko to town yesterday and occupy the Yates property in the north east section. The area was vacated by William Secore.
Mrs Amanda Stickel who resides southeast of here has shown marked improvement after several months of sickness. She has been up most of the past week and is hoped to make a full recovery soon.
Death occurred one week ago and the funeral was held at Nichols Church west of town. Wideman was well known locally and survived by several children including Mrs. George Yates and Mrs. Leroy Yates. Mrs. Wideman was sister to Mrs. Esther Yates living in the south part of town.
At a Lakeview Lodge meeting in 1914 the K of P adopted condolence resolutions for the death of Mary Worley Hill, noting the great loss to Bro. G A Brush and extending sympathy to her family. The resolutions were recorded in the lodge records and sent to the family and the Silver Lake Record.
