Silsbee approves fifty year electric franchise with Gulf States
City of Silsbee Texas grants Gulf States Utilities Company and successors a fifty year franchise to build own and operate an electric light and power system within city limits including streets roads and public areas power lines poles and appurtenances. The ordinance sets compensation four percent of gross receipts from most sales with deductions and requires annual payments starting September 1958. It preserves city regulatory powers and repeals earlier franchises.
