Wounded Policeman Returns Home From Hospital
City policeman Albert Sharp left Hotel Dieu hospital Beaumont Saturday night after a .25 caliber gun accident. The rifle bullet struck his abdomen but did not pierce the stomach wall and was removed in the emergency room. He returned home Tuesday and will rest several days with a Friday checkup planned.

Three Plead Guilty To DWI Counts In County Court
Three men pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in county court this week. Kenneth M. Dunn Willie J. Youman and R. D. Hooks appeared on Feb 10 and Feb 17 respectively and were fined 50 dollars plus costs and given three days in jail. The week saw 15 arrests including two drunk in car and one assault with intent to murder.

Silsbee Youth Indicted for Rape in Hardin County
The Hardin county grand jury returned six indictments after a Monday session at the county courthouse. A 15-year-old Silsbee boy faces statutory rape charges related to a prior case in which six Silsbee men were indicted for affairs with a 14-year-old girl. Indictments include four counts of assault with intent to murder and one for defrauding with a worthless check. Grand jurors reconvene Feb. 27.

Three Silsbee Youths Sentenced to State Reform School
Three youths from Silsbee, ages 15 and 16, were sentenced by Judge H A Coe to the state boys reformatory at Gatesville until age 21 after admitting to a string of burglaries in Silsbee. Two broke into both junior and senior high schools, the third with one of the first two confessed to the February 1 J and H Drive In burglary.
