Remembering John F Queeny and the Monsanto Dream
Speaking to Monsanto employees in St Louis the author honors John F Queeny founder of Monsanto. He recalls the early war era plant, the old brick building fragment, and the lasting value of the dream that created tens of thousands of jobs and America's industrial strength. It argues freedom to dream as a core American value and contrasts competitive management with socialist systems.

Tax planning for end of year charitable deductions
Time year end charitable gifts to maximize tax savings. Plan payments to fit standard deduction limits, defer pledges or accelerate donations of stock or property to beat capital gains. Farmers and businesses can bunch deductions by timing purchases, sales, and loans, while noncash gifts may yield fair market value deductions if delivered before year end.
