Scott County Receives 9250 Polio Aid Check
Dr. W O Finney treasurer reports Scott County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis has received a 9250 emergency fund to aid polio cases. There are 17 confirmed cases and eight suspects in the county. Additional funds from the foundation are likely around September 15. The March of Dimes portion, about 5000, has been spent or committed. Dr. Finney urges contact for help with polio cases or suspected cases.

Balanced Farming Field Day Draws Near 200 Attendees
Nearly 200 Scott county farmers attended the Balanced Farming Field Day at Roy M. Evans farm near Blodgett yesterday. Demonstrations by 4-H members included soil sampling by Everett Mulligan and cockerel caporizing by George Stevens. A sewing box demonstration by Sarah Mills drew interest, with three boxes sold. Afternoon honors went to the R. P. Schuchart, Peter Scherer, and S. R. Schuchart families, each receiving a farm scene picture from the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce.

Sikeston Men Injured in Ste Genevieve County Crash
One man died and two Sikeston residents were injured, one seriously, in a two car collision on State Highway 25 near Ste Genevieve MO, early Monday. Francis L. Bouman drove the fatal car. Elvis Kaiser and Bob Breeden, both Sikeston, were in the other car. Kaiser had minor injuries. Breeden suffered a broken back and facial lacerations. Funeral services were held in Ste Genevieve for Bouman.
