Pheasants Released in Cheyenne County Wildlife Project
Pheasants number over a thousand sixteen weeks old were released in Cheyenne County this week by the Dalton and Cheyenne County Wildlife Clubs with help from the state game farm at Norfolk. Birds were placed where cover is abundant and away from heavy population centers. The cooperative feeding program ran ten weeks from six weeks old, with Ward Johnson praising Mr. Morey for his voluntary work on the Frank Morey farm near Colton. Less than forty birds died or escaped, a record in the state, and conservation officers will monitor the release sites closely.
