Judge Grimes held a special district court to hear Ben Lyon and Arthur Leaven accused of breaking into a Union Pacific car. They pled guilty and were each sentenced to one year in the state penitentiary. Sheriff King and Marshal Washburn transported them to Lincoln.

Bridge Site Picked for North Platte Crossing
County Commissioners Wood, Rowan and Lindberg with County Attorney Gapen and County Surveyor Bordwell visited Bridgeport on Monday to select the site for a new bridge across the North Platte River. The structure will lie due north of Bridgeport on the section line between 28 and 29, township 20, range 50, with total earthwork and bridge length of 2800 feet. R. P. Scott has begun earthwork and Shesly & OShea will start bridge work once materials arrive.
