The Cheyenne County Historical Assn wins zoning approval to convert the old post home at 1108 6th Avenue into a museum. The group seeks income tax exemption for contributions and later a one tenth mill levy in the November general election to fund operations with an estimated 4500 dollars yearly for staff and maintenance. The council also approved projects including garages and a Pater rd apartment, a sewer machine bid, and other items, plus a few real estate actions.

Harold Hansen Dies at 63 in Wichita Falls Texas
Word has been received of the death of Harold Hansen, 63, in Wichita Falls, Texas, on August. He formerly worked at Sioux Army Depot and was a civilian instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base. Burial was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Camelia Hansen, formerly a nurse at Syoux.

Mrs. L. L McClure of Wichita Kansas mother of Mrs. Vern Anthony a former Sidney resident died Saturday September 15 after a stroke. She had been ill for some time. Funeral services and burial were held in Lincoln on Wednesday September 19. Mrs Marvin Anthony of Sidney went to Rapid City South Dakota to care for her grandchildren while their parents attended the funeral.

Three Men Plead Guilty After Gurley Dance Fight
Three men from the Big Springs Brule area faced disturbance and intoxication charges after a dance fight in Gurley Saturday night and were released from Cheyenne County jail. Oscar Navarro and Marcillo Raymond Martinez pleaded guilty to both charges and were fined $50 plus costs. Rocky Navarro pleaded guilty to disturbance and was fined $25 plus costs.
