Prison prisoners hide six hacksaws in jail cells
Sheriff McDaniel reports two tough inmates from Kimball and Chappell in state reform, both about 25, brought from other counties for safekeeping. Six hacksaws smuggled to them in jail, five found in mattresses and one surrendered, believed smuggled by a sweetheart through an outside window. Both now in solitary awaiting possible escape.

Sidney chamber of commerce leader J. W. Johnson announced a booster tour likely to traverse several surrounding towns one day before the Cheyenne County Fall Festival. Dr. Light's band may accompany. Sidneys enthusiasts plan multiple cars. A Sterling concert by the Sidney Juvenile band is being considered for Friday evening, with Gurley hosting a concert that supports the band.
