Potter Firm Law W. L. Schmidt Co. of Potter submitted the low bid of 988 dollars for guard rail along 7.8 miles of highway between Gering and Melbeta in Scotts Bluff County. John Deere Building Donated to Sidney Hospital

The John Deere Company building in Sidney Nebr has been gifted to the Sidney Memorial Hospital board. Ira Steward announced the gift citing authority from Deere & Co executive committee and the hospital board voted unanimously to accept. The 1930 building, once worth over 200000, has been unused and may be sold or leased to bolster the hospital financially. warehouse use is a possibility, though a sale is likely if a reasonable offer appears.

Sidney Resident Is Hospitalized After Collision

Sidney resident Janice M Erickson, 26, of Sidney, was hospitalized with bruises and head lacerations after a car truck crash six miles west of Kimball on Highway 30. Passenger in a car driven by Leonard Erickson, 40, they attempted to pass Kenneth Mooney, 54, of Gillette, who was turning left. The car left the road and landed in a borrow pit. truck damage estimated at $300.

Farm Bureau Meeting Set in Cheyenne County

NFO Calls For Fair Share Of National Income

The Nebraska chapter of the National Farmers Organization adopted a resolution at Grand Island calling for continued efforts to save the family farm and secure a fair price for production. Henry Specht and Jack Sandman were elected national directors, with William Sellhorst reelected. Ken Stofferahn criticized existing agriculture priority plans as favoring high gross incomes and neglecting human resources. About 500 people attended the one day meeting. Window Breaks and Theft Reported in Sidney

Police were notified of two window breakages and a stolen purse over the weekend. A janitor found three workshop windows at Sidney High School damaged on Saturday evening. Tom Gilgren reported his car windshield and rear window were broken by rocks. Rita Golden said a brown leather purse was taken from her car. The report cites Saturday events.

New Well Site OK In Area No. 1 L.D. Hagemister Drilling Permit

Montana Petroleum Corp obtained a drilling permit last week for the No. 1 L.D. Hage meister in an unnamed field, per the Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The Cheyenne County well lies about five miles east and five miles north of Potter, Toltek Drilling Co has been hired.
