The Democratic county convention met at the courthouse and elected R P Scott as chairman and C P Chambers as secretary. Mark Spanogle was nominated for county attorney. Death of Father J J Flood at St Patricks Church
Father J J Flood of St Patricks church died Thursday after a four week illness with typhoid fever. Born December 29 1849 in County Cavan Ireland he served in the Oma ha diocese for 25 years and came to Sidney in 1899. Survived by two sisters and two brothers in Ireland and M J Flood of the county. Funeral and interment at St Patricks church and Catholic cemetery set for this morning.

The bride long a Sidney resident and teacher in local schools. Groom a Lexington resident and Dawson County clerk. They will reside in Lexington. Sidney friends extend congratulations.

Prohibition Convention Nomination in Cheyenne County
The Prohibitionista held a county convention at the courthouse on September 18 with Dr. Murliess presiding and Rev. J. C. Noyce as secretary. A. J. Haskell was nominated for county commissioner and a committee led by Murflees Gilpin and Osborn to fill vacancies. Chas. Osborn was later nominated for senior at the precinct primary.

Railroad workers and shifts reshuffle in Sidney
The B M pay car distributed checks in Sidney. Union Pacific employees moved to new posts and roles including George Hower Jim Clark and Herman Schroeder. About thirty five trainloads to be fed at Sidney stock yards. Last Saturday a 30 percent reduction in car repair staff reduced twelve men with transfers to Sidney Cheyenne and other changes as part of a broader downsizing plan.

Child Dies After Rattlesnake Bite Near Greenwood
Five year old Annie Geiss of Greenwood died after being bitten on the leg by a rattlesnake while walking with her sister near her father in a field. The girl was taken home for emergency care, then to Sidney where she died shortly after arrival. The burial will take place in Sidney's cemetery today.
