The two day meeting unites presidents and treasurers from 200 National Farm Loan nations across Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming for a joint convention marking the Omaha land bank's 30 year history. VA Office At Bluffs Closes

Bentley Named to State Advisory Hospital Council
C B Bentley of Sidney is named as one of six members on the state advisory hospital council created by the 1947 legislature. Governor Val Peterson announced the appointments on Wednesday along with Dr Roy W Fouts Omaha Harry A Lainson Jr Hastings Dr Earle G Johnson G Paul Spence Franklin T S Hook Wayne. The council will survey hospital needs, inventory existing facilities, and advise on licensing to enable federal funds for buildings and equipment. Dr W S Petty state health director will call a meeting soon. The council operates under S B 160 to guide hospital development and health department relations.

Memorial To Sioux Indians Is Speeded Up
The Sioux Memorial Association advances plans to memorialize early Sioux history in the Pine Ridge area with a central memorial and several smaller sites.
