The fourteen month old son of Mr and Mrs Harry Witters died Monday morning at seven thirty at the home of grandparents S P Witters and wife after a long illness and two weeks with colitis. Funeral at two pm at Methodist church Rev Hayes officiating with pallbearers Hiram Harper Edwin Breternitz Frank Borton and Frank Doty. Flower girls Beulah Grabill and Lillian Borton sang by Mrs Owens and Mrs Ahrens. The waxen form was laid to rest amid family sorrow and sympathy from relatives and the young parents.

Elderly German Settler Julius Quandt Dies At Gurley Farm
Coroner, sheriff, and attorney investigated the death of Julius Quandt aged seventy five who collapsed while in a chair at his Gurley area dugout homestead. He lived alone for twenty years, born in South Germany, with a sister in Belgium and a cousin in Jefferson City, Missouri. Coroner Parks took charge of the remains and effects. He owned half a section of land, no stock, and only six dollars and three quarters found on his person.

A Dobls, a coal heaver, fell from coal chutes last Tuesday, breaking his knee and was taken to Cheyenne Hospital. Howard Dolson returned to work after six months at Omaha Union Station. John Aldreghetti, a section hand, injured his right foot by a falling tie in the yards. A new hose cart arrived at Sidney from the Union Pacific, larger and modern, tied to a Safety First note by F A Jack. A report from Chappell says Howard Hurst was found near the railroad with crushed arm and leg and other injuries after attending a Lodgepole dance, possibly from attempting to ride a freight.
