Cheyenne County Nebraska officials met in Sidney on September 23 1914 with all members present. H Olander of Potter was awarded a road grading contract at eighteen cents per yard for dirt and work to start immediately and finish by November 1 1914 with a $250 bond. The board adjourned with the next meeting scheduled for October 6.

Obituary for Elam Tuxberry Leeman in Sidney
Elam Tuxberry Leeman born in Monson Maine in December 1850s died September 23 in Sidney after a chest pain at home. An army veteran, freighting and stock raising man, he married February 19 1881 and had three children who predeceased him. Survived by wife, granddaughter Frances Walsh, three sisters, and a brother. Funeral held at home Friday at 10 with Rev Trygstad officiating. Interment in Catholic cemetery. pallbearers were Paul Borgquist J J Parks H T Doran J R Williams Isaac Jones William Thompsett.

Bridgeport Fair Draws Sidney Crowd for Horse Show
The Bridgeport fair drew a large crowd on Thursday from Sidney. J W McDaniel, Charles Semerod, Al Benish, S Goodin and Sam Sweet traveled by auto. Alfred Bentley and the Montauk Trixie trained on track. Trixie won a half mile race, earning prize money, after careful guidance from Mr Johnson and Al. Many good horses competed, with a fine fall and good time reported by the Sidney group.
