Trucking firm fined for unauthorised contract hauling
R E B Dick Wilson Inc. was fined 300 dollars plus costs in county court after pleading guilty to 12 counts of operating as a contract carrier without a permit from the Nebraska State Railway Commission. All hauls occurred between January 1 and March 24, 1953 between the Ohio Gasoline Plant and Z W Oil Co. in Scotts Bluff. County Judge J L Thorpe imposed the sentence.

Gas Lines To Serve Fields In Ohio Oil Plan
The Ohio Oil Co completed a natural gas line from the Marlowe field to the Huntsman plant and plans a line to Doran Farms to release gas from shut in wells. Dalton Festival Sets New Record in 1953
The 1953 Dalton Fall Festival closed Tuesday night breaking all attendance and participation records. Meadow Lawn School District 70 J earned the best rural float trophy with Miss Patricia Pelster as teacher, while Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi won Sweepstakes and best overall non commercial float. Hancock & Osborn took the best commercial float, and numerous prize winners were noted for exhibits, baked goods, vegetables, and craft entries as the two day event concluded with a crowded gymnasium and a record parade of 30 floats.

The Sidney Jaycees organize the Block of Dimes fundraiser on Saturday with a 30 minute marching demonstration and concert at 1 30 pm. The 65 member Sidney high school band will travel to Boulder Colorado for Band Day next weekend led by instructor Dean Killion.
