Robbert Hellyer, 82, a longtime Sidney resident since 1924, died Tuesday in Hastings. His remains will be sent to Sidney for burial beside his wife in Greenwood cemetery. He lived with Mrs. Hunnicutt before moving to Hastings and was father to Mrs. Verne McManus. A daughter lives in Kansas. Funeral services were held at The Rice Funeral Home conducted by Rev. J. H. Bicknell.

Paving Work Beginnings in Third District Front

The tax levy for school district No 1 will raise more taxes this year than 1932, yet operating expenses have been cut by the board by $15,000 over three years. In 1931 the request was $65,000, 1932 $60,000, and this year $50,000 due to sharp cuts and nonessential teacher eliminations. The levy mainly drives taxation costs which cannot be reduced. Meteor fragment identified from western Nebraska fall
C Bertrand Schultz of the University of Nebraska museum identified oxidized rock as a Meteorite fragment from the August 8 meteor event over western Nebraska. Homer Yohe found the piece on the Yohe ranch near Glen about 15 miles southwest of Crawford. Flomer Wayne Yohe and Ray Bacon also helped when the meteorite was first reported.

Scientist Rained Out On Panhandle Tour
