Ogallala Recluse Dies With Fortune Nearby
Herman Brown, 76, longtime recluse near Ogallala, died Tuesday night from starvation in his farm home three miles west. Authorities found $1,773 in cash buried beneath the floor and several certificates of deposit scattered in the ill kept rooms. Brown was found unconscious on the kitchen floor by Frank Berton who visited to pay for corn and entered after knocking failed.

Mrs Charles W Vest a former resident of this city and well known in Sidney and Cheyenne county died at her Brush Colorado home at one o'clock Thursday morning after a period of illness. Mr Vest operated a Sidney variety store and the couple were active in local social and church affairs. Local friends express widespread regret at the death.

Funeral services for Anton Kripal 68 of Lodgepole were held Monday from the Lodge Pole Catholic church with Rev McDaid of North Platte reading low mass. Interment was in the Sidney Catholic cemetery with Rev Arton Link of Sidney in charge. Born December 8 1864 in Svinem Marina Czechoslovakia he passed away September 15 1933 at his Lodge Pole home.
