Grace McIntosh Schulte Dies After Long Illness
Grace McIntosh Schulte 82 native of Sidney died after a lengthy illness at Memorial Rest Home. She was daughter of J. J. McIntosh, pioneer settler who founded The American Bank in 1889. Born Oct 31 1881 she lived in the McIntosh home on Illinois Street until ill health. Funeral Thursday at 9:30 from St Patrick's Church with burial at Greenwood Cemetery Gehrig and Son in charge. Rosary Wednesday night at 7:30.

The Nebraska Department of Labor report shows non agricultural job demand in August down slightly from a year earlier, with openings for 138 workers and 128 placements across clerical sales service skilled and unskilled jobs. Unemployment is about 2.5 percent. farm hands supply is thinning as youths and women rise in the labor pool. 1021 Head Sold At Auction Here
The Sidney Livestock Sales Pavilion sold 1021 head of live stock at Saturday's sale. The market held steady on all classes, though conditions became jittery toward the end of last week. Yearling steers brought 20.30 to 21.05, Heifers 19 to 19.80, steer calves 24.70 to 25.20, and heifer calves 21.75 to 25.20. The pavilion moved nine car loads and four truck loads to eastern feeders, with management noting contacts with many strong buyers in major feeding areas.

The Nebraska Congress of Parents and Teachers sponsors Meet Your Candidates programs in September and October.
