Four Held On Theft Charges At Dalton Station
Four Scotts Bluff County youths were arrested after a daylight robbery at the Farmers Union Gas and Oil station in Dalton. About $65 was taken from the register before a roadblock arrest south of Gering two hours later. The suspects Bernard Escamilla Alvaro Escamilla Victor Escamilla and Julian Martinez appeared before County Judge C W Smith and entered not guilty pleas to petty larceny with a September 15 court date set for a county hearing. Bonds were set at 300 each.

The flashing amber light at the 13th and Forrest intersection began operation shortly before noon on Thursday. City Manager Tom Coffey says it aims to slow north south traffic and stop east west drivers at stop signs. The device stops all traffic for ten seconds to help pedestrians cross safely and may deter future push button signals if needed.

Congress approves federal library appropriations clearing the way for Sidney to build a new 8000 square foot one story library costing 150000 dollars.
