Sunday afternoon marked the departure of Mrs. Bert Mallory for Los Angeles after a week with her mother Mrs. Bess Fisher and aunt Mrs. Margaret Roth. Doane College freshman Beverly Story left for Crete Nebraska and many locals planned trips to Colorado and Wyoming including Snowy Range tours and visits to Laramie Sidney and Wayne Nebr hosted by relatives, with several family members undertaking schooling and teaching assignments in Greeley Fort Morgan and Denver.

Seaman second class John Harte, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Tiarte of Sidney, a Sidney High School graduate, class of 1945, enlisted in the Navy. He trained at Great Lakes, spent a ten day home leave in August, then went to Seattle and is now on overseas duty.
