Retirement announced for W T Kahse To pastor Sidney church
Dr W T Kahse pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church Sidney will retire from service on November 1 after nearly twenty five years in Sidney and earlier service in other parishes. He asked to be relieved November 1, his decision met with regret from the congregation. He has been a leading Sidney citizen active in civic affairs and Rotary Club.

Passenger Service By Air Envisioned
Prospect for air passenger service out of Sidney has been revived as Massey and Ransome Flying Service filed a brief on exceptions to the examiner's report and seeks favorable reconsideration. Several airlines sought permission for service between Western Nebraska cities and Denver but many applications were denied after a civil aeronautics board hearing. Clarence Hoper, Alliance city manager, wrote to Sidney and North Platte mayors and Scottsbluff and Ogallala leaders, seeking cooperation to secure such service.

Two Year Term For Lodgepole Burglary
Teddy Simpson, 30, father of four, was sentenced to two years in the state penitentiary after pleading guilty to burglary before District Judge J L Tewell. He admitted breaking into a Lodgepole filling station and taking more than 300 dollars from the register. Sheriff Schulz said most of the money was found buried in a fruit jar in Simpson’s Lodgepole yard.

An army air corps private is held in Cheyenne county jail charged with stealing Carl Olson's automobile from a Sidney street. Gene Warren allegedly stepped from a Union Pacific train and drove away, despite carrying a railroad ticket from Ames, Iowa to Spokane, Washington. Sheriff W. W. Schulz said Warren was captured at Pine Bluffs, Wyoming within ten minutes of the Cheyenne county sheriff's call. Warren was on furlough and visiting his Ames home.

Old Settlers Day Draws Big Crowd

Five Inmates In Gang Clash To Face Charges
County attorney to file charges against five railroad extra gang members held in county jail after a spree of drinking gambling and fighting at Lodgepole and Sunol that left a Negro worker injured the sheriff said one attacker struck the victim with a bottle and may face a felony count while other incidents could bring added complaints if a robbery claim is confirmed the victim was hospitalized in Sidney and authorities planned Wednesday to decide on charges.

Rites Held For Mrs. Lindley
Funeral services were conducted at the Lodgepole Methodist church for Mrs. Harvey A. Lindley 62 a lifelong Nebraska resident born August 14 1883. Interment followed at Lodgepole cemetery with Craig Home for Funerals in charge. Pallbearers were A G Lon Miller Harry Kreider Mark Hafer Carl Smith R O Bond and Ted Huff. Survived by husband five children and three sisters. The family moved from Dewitt to Chappell then Lodgepole where Mr. Lindley ran a mercantile business. Mrs Lindley belonged to the Methodist church and was a Royal Neighbor and Eastern Star member.
