Mayor J S Thorpe signed a proclamation designating Sept 13 to 19 as Gnome Mobile Week at the Fox Theatre to celebrate the Walt Disney feature arriving in Sidney Nebraska. Lodgepole village board approves numerous 1967 bills
The Village Board of Lodgepole met in the Town Hall at 8:00 P M with Lloyd Bondegard as chairman and Clarence Kripal present. Absent was Dick Smith. The board reviewed and allowed a long list of General Fund, Electric Fund, Water Fund, Fire Fund, Road and Street Fund, Library Fund, Amusement Fund, Insurance Fund and other accounts totaling payments to multiple suppliers and salaries. Motion carried to pay the bills and adjourn.

Crops And Livestock Field Day Plans Complete At N. Platte
Plans are complete for the Fall Crops and Livestock Field Day at the University of Nebraska North Platte Station on Thursday September 14. Coffee and rolls start at 9 00 a.m. with four tours of ongoing research beginning at 9 30 a.m. and repeated at 2 p.m. Attendees may pick two tours. Topics include swine beef silage irrigation pasture commercial corn variety tests narrow row spacings Bio Act weed control weed plots soybean variety tests sugar beet and potato tillage dryland sorghum tests stubble mulch and chemical weed control. After lunch officials will discuss future Nebraska research plans and a new animal disease diagnostic laboratory.
