City Budget Reflects Growth Costs and Cuts

Final rites were held Thursday at Gehrig Funeral Home for K. C. Davis a 46 year old who was killed early Monday when struck on the Union Pacific west bound main track. The Presbyterian minister Rev Don Daly led the service with music by Mrs Ida Ahrens and Miss Frieda Hammer. Greenwood Cemetery burial included pallbearers Jerry Clark Lyle Gish Irvin Woods Sidney Ted Thompson Bob Ziegler Gene Hartman. Davis survived by wife Minnie and six children including Bob in the Navy and Jim in Jacksonville Fla. Nearby relatives traveled from Alabama Colorado Denver and other places. Authorities discounted foul play in the death.

Hearing on Auto Death Case Today
A 39-year-old Indian man pled guilty to motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene after a fatal car bicycle crash on August 16 at 16th and Grant in Sidney. Judge John Kuns will sentence the defendant, with penalties up to $5,000 fine, six months jail, or one to ten years in state prison, plus possible fines or imprisonment. The victim, five-year-old Glenda Sue Bielanin, died, while her nine-year-old uncle Robert Cronk and Crank boy suffered injuries. the family plans emergency furlough and possible move to French Morocco.

Long time Lodgepole resident Otto Christensen 66 died in a Denver hospital after a brain operation. He settled near Lodgepole in 1918 and will be buried in the Lodgepole cemetery beside his wife. Funeral services are at the Lodgepole Methodist Church Saturday at two.

On Tuesday September 15, the School Section Addition in Sidney is set for a public auction at 9 a.m. at the east door of the Cheyenne County Court House. Student with broken arm and head injury escapes through window
Jimmy Misegadis, a 12 year old at Suno School, injured both arms during an accident after he tried to leave by the front doors. He pushed through a broken window when the door failed, suffering cuts and bleeding. First aid helped stop the bleeding, and he was rushed by ambulance to Sidney for medical treatment.
