Concession stand funds approved for city projects

Sidney City Council used 3700 from a 9000 contingency to fund three projects including 1200 for a new concession stand in Legion Park expansion area 100 feet from restrooms 1200 100 feet from restrooms and 1500 to sink a golf course well deeper plus 1000 for Hillside Golf Course shed repairs and 1500 to extend the water well depth to 90 feet to improve course irrigation

Sidney board OKs extension for Jones Agency permit

Sidney's board of adjustment approved a one year extension for Arlo Jones to operate the Jones Agency out of a show home at 11th Ave and Country Club Dr. despite earlier opposition. The panel, voting 4 to 1 with Joanne Goodwin against, set conditions including off street parking for employees and noted possible discretion despite a strict one year limit.

Jones plans new office building in Parkland Addition

Local realtor Arlo Jones announced plans for a one story 56 000 square foot office building in Parkland Addition southeast Sidney. The 1.5 acre site at Parkland Drive and Queen's Drive will house the Arlo Jones Agency with allied businesses the Insurance Center Nebraska Enterprises and Financial Planning and Marketing Center. Completion depends on water and sewer development with a hoped move in next summer.
