City well emits slight odor from downtown supply

City water supervisor Floyd Sanks reported a minor odor in water flowing from the downtown well behind the Kiki Club between 10th and 11th. Samples tested safe. odor source not identified. The well has been flushed and is back in operation. further testing and possible new wells are planned to prevent recurrence.

Farmers to receive 1977 wheat payments for unplanted crop

A Senate House compromise allows wheat growers to receive 65 cents per bushel for planted wheat while farmers who did not plant receive 22 cents per bushel based on their allotment.
