Markets Steady Through Week With Federal Aid Offset

Domestic grain markets were unsettled for the week ended September 2 as the Weekly Grain Market Review notes. Purchases by the Federal Surplus Commodities Corporation helped steady wheat prices despite sharp drops in Winnipeg and Liverpool. A seven cent rise in fed loan rates on corn buffered shrinking export demand, though the market softened as new crop prospects remained generally favorable and supplies appeared ample.
