Ford walks away from incident in Sacramento

A young woman pointed a gun at President Ford in a Sacramento street crowd. Security wrestled her down and took her into custody. The President remained uninjured and continued toward the state Capitol as agents and police subdued the suspect.

Sidney permits drop in August but rise for year

Sidney building activity slowed in August from the previous year but rose for the year. City Inspector Dean Starr reported $27,727 in new permits for August, versus over $103,000 in August 1974. For the year, permits totaled $644,406, up from $582,888 in 1974, an increase of $61,518.
