1966 Wheat Allotment Figures Set in Cheyenne County

Accident on U S 30 at Chestnut Street junction damages two vehicles
At 5 50 a m Wednesday a heavy damage accident occurred on U S 30 at the Chestnut street junction in Potter. An eastbound 1961 Dodge truck driven by Peter Bratt 64 Bennett Nebraska and a 1964 Ford pickup towing a house trailer driven by Harold Ramey 53 Oceanside California were involved. The truck was turning left as the pickup trailer attempted to pass. Damages were 425 on the truck and 865 on the pickup and trailer. Mr Ramey and wife continued on their way.

Lorris Alexander Pearson 83 of Cheyenne County died Friday at Memorial Hospital after two months illness. Born July 2 1882 in Davie Nebraska he lived in Platte County Osceola and Oregon City before moving to Cheyenne County in 1921. Surviving are wife Verna two sons Paul Sidney and Merle Calif and 12 grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday at 10 am First Christian Church with burial Lodgepole Cemetery. Plans advance for 1966 Panhandle Farm Equipment Day
Plans for the Panhandle Farm Equipment and Progress Day next April are underway after a meeting. John Egging and others reported on a July trip to the University of Nebraska Tractor Power and Safety Day. The event will add grain handling gear weed control and irrigation equipment with plots for small and large manufacturers and expanded booth space and shuttle transport between plots and parking.
