Hecker Rites Set Saturday
Funeral services will be held from the Peetz Community Church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock for Earl Hecker 59 who died at his home in Sterling early Wednesday morning. The Rev. Glen McPherson will officiate. Internment will be in the Sidney cemetery with the Gehrig Funeral Home directing. Hecker died after two years of ill health. He moved to Sterling from a farm east of Peetz about a year ago due to health. Born May 21 1888 in Porpattami County Iowa he was the son of Joseph and Mary Hecker. He married Elizabeth Kuehl January 20 1910 and they moved to a farm six miles east of Peetz in 1913. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth two children Harold W Hecker and Mrs Dorothy M Crow both of Proctor the following brothers and sisters Ted and Paw Hecker Sidney Mrs Maud Fisher Colfax Wash Mrs Daisy Treinen Sidney Mrs Minnie Fisher Proctor Mrs Ada Mae Miller Merrill and Mrs Stella Sawyers Palm Springs Calif and the following grandchildren Clinton Kenneth and Roy Crow Jackie Hecker Mrs Gilbert Wagner and Mrs Gerald Humes all of Proctor.
