One hundred percent approval at a special REA stockholders meeting clears the way for Wheat Belt REA to withdraw rural lines from Pine Bluffs and form a new organization in Sidney. A $500000 loan application to the REA is expected within thirty days. The project covers Cheyenne Devel Garden and Morrill counties in Nebraska and part of Logan county Colorado, with 300 stockholders and new Wheat Belt REA directors named Art Borcher Harold Spiker and Theodore Smith.

Divorce Granted In Hearing Friday
In a hearing before District Judge J. L. Tewell Saturday an absolute divorce was granted Mrs. Leola Elizabeth Hendrickson of Sidney from Ralph Willis Hendrickson. The plaintiff, represented by P. J. Heaton, had filed a petition on September 8 charging extreme cruelty and non-support. They were married at Vancouver, Washington, March 5, 1942, and had no children.

Sheriff Takes Cain To Nebraska Prison
Paul Cain was sent to the State Penitentiary at Lincoln for three years after being convicted of theft from a person. Sheriff W. W. Schulz transported Cain, who listed Omaha as his address, to the prison Friday. Cain was arrested October 3 for taking a watch from R. W. Rose and sentenced October 20 by District Judge J. L. Tewell. He has prior terms in Nebraska and Iowa penitentiaries.

George Glidewell Dies Early Days Cowboy and Freighter

Local Farmer Hurt Friday in Wagon Runaway Accident
Carl Snyder a 50 year old tenant on the C. H. Fuller farm near Sidney was thrown from a wagon pulled by runaway horses. He suffered a fractured fifth lumbar vertebra severe scalp and facial lacerations and abrasions. His son George was uninjured. Snyder received treatment at Taylor Hospital and will remain for several days in a body cast.

Gentry Infant Dies Rites Held Monday
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from St. Pauls Lutheran Church for Lavern Lyle Gentry infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Carol Gentry. The child died at a local hospital November 1 after a two weeks illness. Interment was in Sidney cemetery under The Gehrig Funeral Home. He is survived by his parents one brother Ronald Ray one sister Karen Kay four grandparents and a host of relatives.

The De Paur Infantry Chorus tours the nation after a record start backed by Columbia Concerts.
