Pilot absolved of blame in Alliance crash
A coroner's inquest in Alliance concluded that pilot Bill Davee and four passengers died in an unavoidable accident. Witnesses said a cracked spar or broken control wire, found by Federal Inspector H. Montee, weakened the wing during high speed banked maneuvers in airplane races. The verdict attributed the tragedy to a plane defect, not pilot fault, noting Davee did his best to land safely.

Prof S H Knight of the University at Laramie argues Nebraska soil fertility results largely from winds blowing from Wyoming. He spoke at Torrington to the North Platte valley chamber of commerce on the geology of the region while describing wind driven soil movement amid heavy dust. Masonic Meeting At Alliance Soon
Beginning next Monday the four day fall reunion of the Scottish Rite bodies of western Nebraska will be held at the Masonic temple in Alliance. It is the 26th reunion and the second since a Scottish Rite consistory was granted at Alliance. Guests from Lincoln, Omaha and Hastings will attend, including Frank Cargill Patton of Omaha. A large class will receive degrees from the fourth to 32nd, with a reunion banquet at 6 30 Thursday.

Special Election At Lodgepole On School Bonds
The Lodge Pole board of school trustees calls a November 19 special election on 65 000 dollars in negotiable coupon bonds to enlarge the district and erect a new school building if approved. The question asks trustees of joint school district No 4 Cheyenne and Deuel counties be authorized to issue bonds up to 65 000 at not more than five percent interest. Assessments against each lot and parcel within the paying district No 1 will be made at a later meeting. The paving district extends along Tenth avenue and Illinois street, affecting all land within.

Livoni Named New Head at Sidney Creamery
