Armistice Day Observance Planned in Sidney with Parade and Events
Armistice Day on November 11 is planned in Sidney by the American Legion and Amillary of Cheyenne county with social groups. The day features a morning parade from Central grade school, a 11 am program at the U A theater, a 2 pm concert by local bands at the Sidney Athletic park, a 8 pm football game Sidney Independents versus Ft Russell, and an 9 pm public dance at Hardy's hall with Grabill's Merrymakers. Admission applies to the football game and dance.

Darling Meick Wedding in Sidney Families Unite
Miss Opal Darling and Mr. Peter Meick wed last Wednesday morning at the Catholic church with Rev. Father Link officiating. Only close relatives attended and a wedding dinner followed at the bride's aunt Mrs. Frank Baylift home. Mrs. Meick has lived with her aunt and uncle in Sidney for ten years, while Mr. Meick and his parents reside on a county farm east of Sidney. They plan to reside in Sidney for a time.

25 Percent Increase in Fall Wheat Acreage in Cheyenne County
State agricultural officials report a 25 percent rise in fall wheat acreage in Cheyenne County this autumn due to ideal winter weather and soil conditions. Farmers are planting single rows between corn. crop quality and moisture are high, with corn husking soon underway and huskers paid seven cents per bushel for good corn. Dr. Barger notes the Van Valkenburg baby is recovering well after a severe scalding last week.

Convention of Royal Neighbors in Session in Sidney
The twenty ninth annual convention and class adoption of the Fifth and Sixth districts of the Royal Neighbors of American will be held in Sidney this week. About 109 camps and 200 delegates are expected with registration at the Tobin opera house at 10 am. An automobile sight seeing trip and a full afternoon program follow including addresses by Francis H. Torkelson and Mrs. J. W. Johnson. The Steaing program and a 5 30 banquet are planned with multiple drills and performances by local groups.

Sheriff 15 Badly Hurt In Car Wreck
Sheriff J W McDaniel was seriously injured when the automobile he rode in turned over ten miles north of Fremont. He had been transporting Robert High to Sidney to face a charge of disposing of a mortgaged car. High had been jailed for liquor and later arraigned, with bond set at 500. The driver lost control. all three men were trapped beneath the wreck and rushed to Fremont. High pleaded not guilty and faced district court, while McDaniel previously suffered a similar crash about a year earlier.

National Bank Final Dividend Being Paid
