Oshkosh C of C fund backs new electronics plant
The Midwee Corp formed to run an Oshkosh electronics plant plans to hire about 15 workers at start and up to 150 within months. Funding comes from a Chamber of Commerce committee and local investors led by R John Townley and others. Research ties include Heater Development Corp in Boulder and Univ of Colorado experts. Contracts with North American Aviation and Northrup Aircraft are anticipated, with announcements next week.

Gunmen Who Stole Patrol Car Caught In Cornfield Near Iliff
Two young gunmen seized a Colorado state patrol cruiser late Thursday and were captured at dawn in a cornfield about seven miles from Tiff Colorado. Police identified them as Owen Chartrand and Francis Martin, both from Massachusetts. The pursuit involved about 100 officers including state troopers and sheriffs, with an arrest after Deputy Jerry Carver fired three warning shots. The cruiser was found off U S Highway 6 triggering a large manhunt into Nebraska panhandle. Authorities questioned the men to determine intent and any prior records.
