Cheyenne County Native To Speak At 1951 Wheat Show
Dr. Allington head of Nebraska College of Agriculture Plant Pathology will speak at the Sidney Wheat Show on November 2 about western wheat mosaic and root rot. He and Dr. Robert Staples will discuss virus origins transmission and timing of infection. The program includes a 1:30 pm lecture at City Auditorium with a pancake feed and awards to follow. Farmers urged to submit 1951 wheat samples by October 29 to the local agent or by mail to Sidney.

Word has been received of the death of former Sidney resident Thomas G. Epps 70 in Portland Oregon. The remains will arrive today for funeral services and burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under Craig Mortuary direction. He lived in Sidney for many years and is survived by a sister Mrs ary M Blood of Portland and a brother Charles L Epps.

Mrs Pontious Services Today at Light Memorial Church
Funeral rites for Ida May Pontious 81 will be held this Tuesday afternoon at Light Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. H. B. Taylor presiding. Burial beside her husband in Potter Cemetery. She died Sunday after weeks in a local hospital. Born May 5 1870 in Vinton Iowa. Married January 12 1892 to Warren Pontious. Lived in Shenandoah before moving to Cheyenne County in 1915 then Potter area in 1918. Mr Pontious died in 1942. Survived by three nieces and three nephews: Mrs John Jessop Potter Mrs J W Brock Kansas City Mable Strawn Fort Dodge Ernest Wood Egbert Dallas Wood Vinton and Warren Wood Potter.
