Sidney Community Hotel Corporation elects first president
Dr. 50 B Dorwarth was chosen as first president of the Sidney Community Hotel Corporation. The election Wednesday night set the path for hotel construction with officers named Earl Stinteey Lincoln Russell George Barlow Gordon Tobin and a 15 member board. A site purchase plan will be presented next Wednesday at 7 30 pm with two tentative sites discussed. The meeting also reviewed corporate structure and policy to enable quick action once a site is agreed. An initial hotel budget of 50 000 for site purchase and a total campaign goal of 380 000 for construction and furnishings were noted. Architects are to be consulted and the site choice will lead to selecting an architect.

Mrs. Otto Ernest of Sidney learns her nephew Robert Filbin age about 20 from Chicago was killed in action in Korea on October 1. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Patrick Filbin of Chicago. Bridgeport Acts To Improve Utilities
The E. A. Pederson Co. won the Bridgeport light and power project bid, coming in about $12,000 under the engineer estimate of 76,000. Nebraska corn crop forecast cuts yield on frost damage
The Agriculture Department projected Nebraska 1951 corn at 224,719,000 bushels, seven million below last year, due largely to frost. William Schwartz to be Buried at Weyerts Church
Funeral services for William Schwartz age 41 will be held Sunday afternoon at Weyerts Lutheran Church. Rites start at 2:30 under Rev. Emil Reinking, with burial in the Weyerts family plot. Schwartz, son of Charles Schwartz of Lodgepole, died Tuesday in a Fargo hospital after a period of failing health.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs Addie Lisco 87 widow of Reuben Lisco. She died Friday at an Oshkosh hospital. Her husband founded the town of Lisco Neb in 1905 and died in 1935. Services were at the Lisco Presbyterian church.
