A district meeting of soil conservation association committees from Cheyenne Kimball Deuel Keith Garden Perkins and Banner counties will gather in the basement auditorium today at 9 30 a.m. County agents and committee members will bring suggestions for the 1937 program based on community meetings this October. Fred Wallace chairman of the state committee notes returns are tentative as district conferences set October 25 and 26 to shape district plans ahead of a Lincoln meeting October 28 where the state program will be drafted with farmers and county agents present. The board of commissioners designated four Cheyenne county banks as county depositories on Tuesday. Two Missouri Men Nabbed By Wardens
St Joseph residents Chester Hoffelmyer and Ralph Schweiger were caught east of Oshkosh by state game wardens for pheasant hunting out of season. They faced fines of 25 dollars plus costs, with confiscation of a rifle and shotgun. Three other hunters in Minatare Butte and Spencer were fined 25 dollars each. costs varied from 5 to 7 dollars, and three shotguns were taken.

A basin lister demonstration will be held at the Frank Portrey farm two miles north of Sidney on the old Haskell hill road Friday October 30 starting at 10 a.m. The meeting aims to show the latest method of conserving moisture and preventing soil erosion. Swinbank says the basin and Peacock sisters are the practical machines for this Great Plains area. Prisoner From Here Dies At Penitentiary
George Martin of Pittsburgh aged 41 died of a heart ailment at the Nebraska penitentiary where he served an 18 month sentence for entering a motor vehicle with attempt to commit larceny. Committed October 1 1935, he was to be released next month. He is survived by a sister.

Route 19 Opens New East Sidney Link
Highway No 19 east of Sidney was opened yesterday morning. The new Denver Black Hills route avoids Sidney by starting atop the hill south of town and veering northeast to meet Highway 30 east of the Burlington viaduct. It then follows 30 east along the Union Pacific line and rejoins the old No 19 route built last year.
